When you visit bhproducts.ch, cookies may be stored on your device. This page explains in detail which cookies we use, why, and how you can exercise your choice.
Contents
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device (computer, tablet, smartphone) when you visit a website. It allows the site to recognise you, remember your preferences, secure your session or measure your activity.
On bhproducts.ch, we use different categories of cookies, some of which are essential for the website to function (cart, login) and others require your prior consent (analytics, advertising).
2. Your consent
On your first visit, a banner asks for your choice. Until you have made a choice, no optional cookies are set and no Google or Meta tools are loaded: no data is sent to them. The shop works either way, whether or not you accept.
You can:
- Accept all: the three purposes described below are enabled;
- Reject all: only necessary cookies are used;
- Continue without accepting ✕: same effect as “Reject all”;
- Customise: you enable or disable each purpose separately.
The “Reject all” and “Accept all” buttons look the same: neither is given more prominence than the other.
The three optional purposes:
| Purpose | Tools | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Visit statistics | Google Analytics 4 | Count visits and purchases, and see which pages are viewed and from which type of device, for our statistics. |
| Ad measurement | Google Ads, WooCommerce Order Attribution | Find out whether a visit or an order follows a click on one of our Google ads, and record the source of the visit on the order. |
| Personalised advertising | Google Ads (remarketing), Meta Pixel, Meta Conversions API | Allow Google and Meta (Facebook, Instagram) to show you our ads on other websites and apps based on your visit. Requires ad measurement, which is then enabled automatically. |
How long your choice lasts: your choice, whether consent or refusal, is kept for 6 months in the bh_consent cookie. After that, the banner is shown to you again. It is also shown earlier if a tool or a purpose changes.
Changing your mind: at any time, as easily as you gave your consent, via the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page or the small round button at the bottom left of the screen. If you withdraw your consent to a purpose, the cookies for that purpose set on bhproducts.ch are deleted from your browser and the page is reloaded. Cookies that Google sets on its own domains (IDE, NID) cannot be deleted by our site: you can delete them in your browser settings (see section 7).
3. Strictly necessary cookies (always active)
These cookies are essential for the website to function and do not require your consent.
| Name | Source | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
woocommerce_cart_hash | WooCommerce | Identify your shopping cart | Session |
woocommerce_items_in_cart | WooCommerce | Count the items in your cart | Session |
wp_woocommerce_session_* | WooCommerce | Maintain your cart session | 2 days |
wordpress_logged_in_* | WordPress | Keep you logged in to your customer account | Session (14 days if you tick “Remember Me”) |
wp-settings-* | WordPress | Remember your display preferences | 1 year |
bh_consent | bhproducts.ch | Remember your cookie choice (consent or refusal); a copy is also kept in your browser’s local storage | 6 months |
Record of your choices: when you make your choice, our server also sets the bh_consent cookie, with the same value. In addition, our server keeps the following records. None of them contains your IP address, your browser information (user-agent) or a visitor identifier: the device type (mobile or computer) is determined at the time, without storing the user-agent.
- anonymous daily counters (language, mobile or computer, banner display or type of choice, purposes accepted): kept for 25 months;
- log of choices (date and time rounded to the minute in UTC, version and fingerprint of the banner text, language, choice): kept for 13 months;
- note on each order, attached to it, showing the choice in force at the time of the order (purposes accepted, type of choice, day of the choice): deleted after 13 months.
The counters and the log cannot be used to identify you. The note on the order, however, is attached to your order, and therefore to you. These records are used to prove that your choice is respected and to check that our sales are measured correctly. The note on the order is also used to report to Google Ads only those orders for which ad measurement was accepted.
4. Secure payment cookies
These cookies are used to secure payments and prevent fraud. They are set as soon as you arrive on the site, not only on payment pages. As they are necessary, they do not require your consent.
| Name | Source | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
__stripe_mid | Stripe | Anti-fraud machine ID for payment | 1 year |
__stripe_sid | Stripe | Anti-fraud payment session | 30 minutes |
wc_wallee_device_id | Wallee | Anti-fraud device fingerprint | 1 year |
Providers: Stripe Payments Europe Ltd. (Ireland) and Stripe, Inc. (United States); Wallee AG (Switzerland). These cookies are not used for statistics or advertising.
5. Visit statistics (Google Analytics)
Only with your consent to the “Visit statistics” purpose. These cookies let us count visits and purchases and see which pages are viewed, for our statistics.
| Name | Source | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics 4 | Visitor identifier, used to count visits | 2 years |
_ga_Y9NRQ2E30J | Google Analytics 4 | Site-specific analytics session | 2 years |
Data sent to Google Analytics: pages viewed, source of the visit, device and browser type, approximate location derived from your IP address and, when you place an order, the order number and amount as well as the products purchased.
Providers: Google Ireland Limited (Ireland) and Google LLC (United States). The Google Analytics tag on our site is configured with Google signals and ad personalisation switched off. To find out more: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
6. Ad measurement and personalised advertising
Only with your consent. These two purposes are chosen separately; personalised advertising requires ad measurement.
6.1 Ad measurement (Google Ads)
With your consent to “Ad measurement”, Google Ads tells us whether a visit or an order follows a click on one of our Google ads. To do this, Google uses the ad click identifier (gclid, gbraid or wbraid), the _gcl_au, _gcl_aw and _gcl_gb cookies in the table below, your IP address (since 2026, Google may use it to measure conversions), the pages viewed and the order number and amount. Enhanced conversions (sending your email address in hashed form) are not enabled. Google processes this data as an independent controller, under its own rules: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
With the same consent, WooCommerce Order Attribution records on your order, on our site, the source of the visit (ad, search engine, direct link, campaign), the landing page, the number of pages viewed and of visits, the device type and your browser information (user-agent).
| Name | Source | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_gcl_au | Google Ads | Measure advertising conversions | 3 months |
_gcl_aw, _gcl_gb | Google Ads | Remember the click on a Google ad (click identifier) | 3 months |
sbjs_* | WooCommerce Order Attribution | Identify the source of your visit (ad, search engine, direct link, campaign) | Session |
6.2 Personalised advertising (Google Ads, Meta)
With your consent to “Personalised advertising”, Google and Meta (Facebook, Instagram) may show you our ads on other websites and apps based on your visit. Google Ads adds you to our remarketing lists. The Meta Pixel sends Meta, from your browser, the pages viewed and your actions in the shop (for example product viewed, add to cart, purchase and its amount), together with your IP address, your browser information and the _fbp and _fbc identifiers. If you are logged in to Facebook or Instagram in this browser, Meta may link this data to your account.
This is profiling: Google and Meta may combine your visit with other data they hold to choose the ads they show you. Google and Meta may also use this data for their own purposes, under their own responsibility.
| Name | Source | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_fbp | Meta Pixel | Recognise your browser for Meta advertising | 3 months |
_fbc | Meta Pixel | Remember the click on a Facebook or Instagram ad | 3 months |
IDE (doubleclick.net), NID | Remarketing and personalised advertising (cookies set on Google’s domains) | 6 to 13 months |
Meta Conversions API: with your consent to “Personalised advertising”, and only then, our server sends the following events directly to Meta: product page viewed, add to cart, checkout started and purchase. These transmissions contain, in plain text, your IP address and your browser information (user-agent), the _fbp and _fbc identifiers, the page and products concerned and, for a purchase, its amount. When you place an order, they also contain your email address, phone number, first name and last name, city, postcode and country, in hashed form (SHA-256): Meta does not receive this data in plain text, but can compare it with its users’ data to recognise you if you have a Facebook or Instagram account. Without your consent, nothing is sent to Meta.
Providers: Google Ireland Limited (Ireland) and Google LLC (United States); Meta Platforms Ireland Limited (Ireland) and Meta Platforms, Inc. (United States). For the collection of this data on our site and its transmission to Meta (Meta Pixel and Conversions API), we are joint controllers with Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, under Meta’s agreement (Controller Addendum). You can exercise your rights with us or with Meta. Meta alone is responsible for how it then uses this data. To find out more: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and Meta privacy policy.
Good to know: the free Google Shopping listings that display our products in Google Search rely on NONE of the cookies described in this section. They depend on a product feed sent directly by our site to Google Merchant Center, independent of individual visitor tracking.
7. How to refuse or delete cookies
